Vancouver, BC Landfill Gas & Flare System

40-foot enclosed landfill-gas flare with siloxane / H2S control, feeding gas to three generator packages producing >5 MW to the electric grid.

Vancouver, BC
WO-3471
$494,000

Application

Landfill gas extraction and treatment system for energy recovery and emissions control.

System Details

Gas extraction system fabricated on an 8' x 20' channel-frame skid with carbon steel moisture separator and enclosed landfill gas flare (40 ft tall) to meet regulatory requirements. System controls were designed for integration with existing site controls. Gas is routed through three generator packages producing over 5 MW of power for the electrical grid. Gas treatment includes siloxane and H2S control.

Treatment Objectives

Capture and treatment of landfill gas for emissions compliance and conversion to electrical energy.

Project Highlights

  • Enclosed flare system
  • Fabricated on an 8' x 20' channel frame skid
  • Carbon steel moisture separator (PRM-manufactured)
  • 40' tall enclosed landfill-gas flare designed to meet regulatory and landfill gas code requirements
  • Control system designed for future integration with other on-site systems
  • Gas routed through three large generator packages for >5 MW output to the electric grid
  • Gas treatment included Siloxane / H2S control system

Outcome

Operational system enabling landfill gas treatment and power generation with grid output exceeding 5 MW.
