A is for Air Stripper

Air strippers remove volatile organic compounds from contaminated water by forcing air through it, making them essential for groundwater remediation and municipal water treatment.

Air strippers represent an effective technology in water treatment processes designed to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other gases from contaminated water. The treatment mechanism operates by flowing the water stream over a distribution weir and along horizontal trays. Forced air is blown through holes in the trays, creating a froth of bubbles that generates a large mass transfer surface area where contaminants are volatilized. The clean water exits the stripper while off-gas vapors undergo required treatment.

This technology proves particularly valuable for cleaning up groundwater at industrial sites and ensuring safe drinking water supplies. Their efficiency and relatively low operational costs make them a popular choice for environmental remediation projects and municipal water treatment facilities.

PRM offers a range of air strippers available for purchase or rental to meet any project needs. Additionally, air strippers can be custom built to customer specifications. PRM provides advanced modeling system software, enabling designers, engineers, and end users to develop optimal solutions for current treatment requirements.
