PRM builds remediation systems for hazardous locations classified by the NEC, prioritizing safety through certified control panels, rigorous testing, and HAZWOPER-trained field personnel.
In the environmental remediation industry, many systems are built for projects located in what the National Electrical Code (NEC) classifies as hazardous locations.
Class I locations are those in which inflammable gases or vapors are, or may be, present in sufficient quantities to produce explosive or flammable mixtures. Class I, Division 1 locations are where hazardous atmosphere may be present during normal operations (continuously, intermittently, periodically, or during normal repair/maintenance) or areas where equipment breakdown releases hazardous vapors with simultaneous electrical equipment failure. Class I, Division 2 locations are those in which volatile flammable liquids or gases are handled, processed, or used, normally confined within closed containers or systems.
Project management in hazardous areas requires deep understanding of risks and best practices. PRM's core value is Safety By Design, prioritizing employee, customer, public, and environmental safety. The company continually works to make systems and panels the safest in the industry.
PRM's certified control panels undergo rigorous testing for safety and integrity. Systems exceed National Research Training Laboratory (NRTL) specifications. The in-house Control Shop holds UL 508A and 698A certifications for the USA and Canada. PRM is one of the nation's only Equipment Integrators Third Party Certified to manufacture Treatment Systems to UL and NFPA standards through MET Laboratories, a pioneering NRTL and electrical standards leader.
In the field, PRM controls are installed by licensed, certified electricians and NRTL Third Party Certified OSHA HAZWOPER-trained personnel, with Task Safety Analysis completed before work begins.
