K is for Knockout Tank

Knockout tanks (also called moisture separators) remove water and vapor from process air streams to protect downstream equipment in soil vapor extraction and dual-phase systems.

Knockout Tanks are used for the removal of water and water vapor from a process air stream, typically for protection of downstream equipment. Knockout tanks are also known as moisture separators.

PRM Knockout Tanks are fabricated and manufactured in our main shop facility in North Carolina. Their design ensures highly efficient operation. These moisture separators are typically used with Soil Vapor Extraction systems, Dual Phase Extraction systems, groundwater or soil remediation, or protection of vacuum or pressure blowers. They can be incorporated in other processes to remove moisture. PRM standard knockout tanks are designed for 15 to 400 gallons liquid capacity. Standard aluminum construction features a tangential inlet port for optimum liquid removal, internal centrifugal isolation ring, and 6" inspection ports. Inlet and outlet connections can be flanged or threaded. For applications where high GPM is expected, an oversized unit with a mist eliminator is recommended.

Moisture knockout tanks are customized to specific applications with features including medium- and high-vacuum units, high vapor flow up to 2500 CFM, PVC clear sight tubes, skid mounting, float controls for automated level control and alarm conditions, UL 508A and 698A control panels with wireless telemetry for remote monitoring, vapor flow measurement devices, transfer pump packages with instrumentation, and installation, field integration, startup, and operations services.
